Fellowship
Where friendship begins, belonging deepens, and no one has to walk alone.
A CHURCH TAKING ROOT
A different kind of Church
A Christ-centered church being shaped for real people, real community, and faith that moves beyond a building — locally, online, and wherever God sends us.
Ordinary People. Extraordinary Purpose.
Starfish Church is being formed. This site describes the vision and the model taking shape; it does not represent a full public-service schedule that does not yet exist.
WHY STARFISH?
A starfish became meaningful to us because the life of the Church was never meant to depend entirely on one building, one program, or one human personality. Christ is the Head. The Church is His body.
Starfish Church is a Christ-centered community where people can deepen their relationship with God, strengthen their faith, discover their God-given gifts, grow in their calling, and find meaningful ways to serve God and others.
Above all, our desire is to grow closer to Christ. Everything else flows from that relationship.
We are being shaped as a community grounded in Scripture, strengthened through genuine relationships, and equipped to carry Christ’s love outward.
The goal is not simply to gather more people in one place. It is to help more people become the Church wherever God places them.
OUR FOUNDATION
God’s Word is our foundation, and Jesus Christ is our center. We believe the Holy Spirit is still at work, drawing people, growing faith, and sending love into the world through willing hearts and open hands.
Starfish Church is being shaped by Scripture, grounded in the life of Christ, and stirred by a vision of faith that gathers in community, grows in discipleship, and goes where love is needed most.
Guided by Scripture. Centered on Christ. Moved by love.
Explore what we believe, the Scriptures that shape us, and the heart behind this different kind of Church.
Explore What We BelieveHOW IT WORKS · GROWING IN CHRIST TOGETHER
More than a place to attend. A community where fellowship opens doors, faith takes root, and love finds ways to serve.
You can participate alongside your home church, wherever you live, or wherever you are in your journey of faith. Our center is Christ. Our invitation is open.
Not three separate programs or a rigid sequence. Three connected movements that strengthen one another.
1 - GatherGathering is more than attending a service. We bring our stories, questions, skills, experiences and hopes. Through fellowship, we discover what we can share, and what God may be growing among us.

Where friendship begins, belonging deepens, and no one has to walk alone.

Where Scripture, experience, knowledge, and life lessons enrich one another.

Where what one person has can make a meaningful difference for another.

Where conversations become ideas, collaboration begins, and new beginnings take shape.
First, why we gather. Then, where and how we gather.
CHURCH IS WHERE YOU MAKE IT
A beautiful chapel can be a gift. So can a repurposed storefront, a living room, a barn, a borrowed room, a tent, a beach, a backyard, or a circle under the stars. What matters is that people genuinely gather around Christ, grow together, care for one another, and live what they believe.

Small enough to know one another. Real enough to matter.

A barn, community center, storefront, or wherever doors open.

Under the stars, beside a fire, on a beach, or in the desert.

An interactive platform to learn, share, and engage.
Where two or three gather in His name, the size of the room is not the point. The center is Christ.
2 - GrowWe grow through Scripture, shared questions, discipleship, encouragement, prayer, and everyday care. Not just by receiving information, but by learning and walking alongside one another.
DIGITAL BY DESIGN · LOCAL BY NATURE
Technology can become connective tissue — not simply a camera pointed at a Sunday service.
Starfish Church can make teaching, prayer, a Weekly Focus, testimony, conversation, Table connection, Emerging Initiative updates, ways to ask for help, and ways to offer help available wherever people live.
Be here with us. Or meet us where you are.

CONNECTED IN FAITH
Small gatherings, online Circles, and shared teaching can strengthen relationships without requiring everyone to be in the same room. Technology can help people connect, but the heart is always genuine fellowship and discipleship.

3 - GoGO can begin with an ordinary act of care, a conversation, or one neighbor helping another. Some ideas grow into initiatives. Others change one person's day. Every faithful beginning matters.

LOVE IN ACTION
Some acts of service begin simply, with a neighbor showing up. Others grow through collaboration with churches, organizations, and Wellsprings Mission. We can take part without expecting every initiative to belong to Starfish Church.
Meet the wider mission ↓BRING WHAT YOU HAVE
Starfish should not begin every problem by asking what needs to be purchased. Communities already contain enormous capacity that is often waiting to be connected with purpose.
What can you bring and where might it matter?
MORE CONNECTIONS IN DEVELOPMENT
Two distinct pathways in the wider Wellsprings vision explore how calling, relationships, practical solutions, and thoughtful technology can help good things grow. Both are developing concepts, not established Starfish Church programs.

Called to Connect
Where Calling Finds Connection
Helping people, churches, and ministries discover their gifts, build meaningful relationships, and turn faith-inspired calling into action through service and shared initiatives.

Connecting for Good
Bringing Possibilities to Life
Helping organizations overcome barriers and bring ideas to life through practical technology, meaningful connections, digital solutions, and thoughtful innovation.
FAITH IN EVERYDAY LIFE
You don’t have to wait for everything to be in place to begin making a difference.
Sometimes it begins with one small moment of kindness. Here are eight simple ways to start right where you are.

Share a smile, a compliment, or a little encouragement.
Notice someone who needs help and offer what you can.
Listen, offer comfort, or simply be there.
Help someone feel seen, valued, and included.
Pass along knowledge, an opportunity, or a useful connection.
Choose warmth, patience, and kindness wherever you go.
Extend an invitation and help others feel they belong.
Encourage someone to see the possibilities still ahead.
Start small. Start where you are.You never know how far one act of goodness might reach.
FAITH IN ACTION · PARTNERSHIP IN PURPOSE
Starfish Church is an emerging, Christ-centered community with a calling to gather, grow, and go. Through Wellsprings Mission, we envision serving alongside other churches, nonprofits, care providers, businesses, and neighbors. Each partner keeps its own identity while finding meaningful ways to contribute and collaborate.
Where committed partners and resources can come together to move promising ideas toward practical action, service, and restoration.

WIDER MISSION PATHWAYS · NEED · CAPACITY · FIT
Help Finds a Way, Help Shows Up, and Good Works Out are connected ideas and developing pathways within the wider mission. They are not three ministries of Starfish Church.

GIVE A CALLING ROOM TO GROW
Not every good idea needs to become a permanent program. Some initiatives emerge, take root, become sustainable, and are ready to be sent.
It starts with noticing a need, recognizing a calling, or imagining what could be possible.

These stages describe how opportunities may develop, not a promise that every idea will follow the same path.
A LOCAL BEGINNING · A WIDER COMMUNITY
Starfish Church envisions fellowship growing wherever believers gather, whether in homes, online Circles, or communities across the world. Our first local expression is being prepared in Dolan Springs, Arizona, but no single location defines the Church.
We want to listen, gather around Christ, grow in Scripture and relationship, and discover how we can serve. Small beginnings, caring relationships, and faithful leadership matter far more than the size of any building.
Local communities can take root in different places, connected by shared faith, mutual care, and discipleship.
A PERSONAL WORD FROM OUR FOUNDER
There are experiences in life we never would have chosen. For me, a motorcycle accident and traumatic brain injury began a long journey through suffering, healing, caregiving, and finding my way closer to God through a renewed and deepening relationship with Him. Along the way, I began to see how often people face their hardest moments without the care, connection, or encouragement they need.
My background is in technology and entrepreneurship, but I feel incredibly blessed to have had this vision placed before me. I find myself asking how the gifts, experiences, and resources already among us might be brought together to serve people in ways that genuinely change lives.
My hope for Starfish Church is that we keep Christ at the center, make room for real people and real lives, grow together in faith, and carry His love beyond any one gathering place. A healthy local church can be a beginning, not a boundary.
I do not know exactly where this journey will lead. Perhaps what begins here can encourage people in other communities to discover their gifts, answer needs around them, and put faith into meaningful action. Perhaps it could become part of something much larger.
The vision is bigger than any one of us. And that is part of what makes it so exciting.
Perhaps you are part of what God is bringing together.

PART OF A WIDER VISION
Starfish Church envisions participating alongside other independent churches and partners in Wellsprings Mission. StarfishFloat.org is the open idea-development platform, where possibilities can be proposed and explored. Its own purpose remains clear. We gather around Christ, grow in Scripture and discipleship, care for one another, and go into our communities in service.
Promising initiatives may attract collaborators through Wellsprings Mission, but they do not automatically become church ministries or assets. Starfish Church is being organized as its own independent nonprofit church, with separate spiritual oversight, finances, and accountability. Partnerships with the wider vision will require appropriate agreements rather than being assumed.
AN OPEN INVITATION · A CLEAR CENTER
Someone should not have to pretend to believe what we believe in order to help another person. People from the wider community can share expertise, volunteer for suitable opportunities as they develop, offer resources, build relationships, partner, or simply do good alongside us.
You don’t have to share our faith to share a meal, repair a home, contribute a skill, support a caregiver, or help a neighbor.
ONE CENTER · MANY VOICES
Starfish Church should have real, accountable pastoral leadership and clear biblical grounding without becoming built around the personality of one preacher.
PASTORAL CARE
People need to be known, prayed for, visited, encouraged, discipled, supported through grief and hardship, and cared for spiritually. Tools can help needs become visible and connections happen, but Starfish Church carries the pastoral responsibility.
Anyone can show up. Not everyone is automatically a pastor.
HOW WE MEASURE GROWTH
Gathering and giving matter — but they should not be the only signs of health.
We don’t have to own the good in order to help it grow.
START WHERE YOU ARE
